B-LOC Shrink Discs Couplings
B-LOC Shrink Discs
  • SD10, SD20 and SD30 series shrink discs offer very concentric and well-balanced connections
  • provide high capacity mechanical interference fits

  • allow unlimited axial and angular hub timing

  • most commonly used in RASP rigid shrink disc couplings, shaft mount reducers, etc.

B-LOC Shrink Disc Couplings

  • a simple and cost effective overhung mounting for conventional speed reducers or hydraulic motors with solid output shafts
  • compared with foot mounted drives overhung mounting offers the following advantages:
    • high torque and bending moment capacity
    • not affected by shock or reversing loads
    • RASP/B-LOC couplings provide zero-backlash shrink fit connections
    • eliminates support structures and foundations
    • eliminates flexible couplings which require periodic service, due to shaft misalignment or flexible insert wear
    • provides infinite radial and axial adjustment
    • provides easy and quick mounting without shaft alignment
  • since compression fittings generate much higher pressures than shrink or press fits, RASP/B-LOC couplings can transmit extreme loads with fit lengths not exceeding shaft diameter
  • allow easy assembly and removal in the field for bearing and seal replacement or any other maintenance work because of the clearance between the hub bore and the shaft prior to tightening and after relaxing of locking screws
